Submit a problem

Post a problem from a university course, a contest, or your own curiosity. You can write LaTeX in the title and the body. A thread opens immediately so others can start replying. Draft auto-saves as you type.

How to post a great problem

  • • Define your symbols once (then reuse them consistently).
  • • Add tags that describe the main idea, not every detail.
  • • If it’s from a course, mention the course code in tags (e.g., mat312).
  • • Aim for clarity. Math can be hard; the English shouldn’t be.

LaTeX and preview (what to expect)

  • • Inline maths: $x^2 + y^2$ or \(x^2+y^2\)
  • • Display maths: $$\int_0^1 x^n\,dx$$ or \[\int_0^1 x^n\,dx\]
  • • Multi-line: \begin{align} ... \end{align} (best for step-by-step work).
  • • The preview uses MathJax (standard LaTeX works; packages are not supported).
  • • Very long equations may scroll sideways in the preview — especially on mobile.

Tags are for discovery. Think: a topic (number-theory), a method (series), or a course (mat312). Two to five good tags is perfect.
